Just another day at work: inside a Russian cargo plane

I was driving somewhere else on assignment (a bank robbery, of all things) the other day when I saw this beauty cross the sky. It took up my whole view.

In short, I had to track it down, and later convinced the the folks at Cutter Aviation to let me see the plane up close. I ended up getting access right into the belly of the thing, which was amazing.

It turns out this 1980s Soviet-era Antonov AN124-100 Cargo plane is used to transport U.S. military helicopters among other giant things.

Labor Day = a fun work (at home) day

Over the weekend I had the chance to do some work for my wonderful wife’s jewelry business. Although she needed more than 30 photos done for her website, I enjoyed the challenge of lighting the pieces well and showing off her creativity while exercising mine.

She took these shots of me in action. And I took the bottom photo of her earrings.
