Just another day at work: inside a Russian cargo plane

I was driving somewhere else on assignment (a bank robbery, of all things) the other day when I saw this beauty cross the sky. It took up my whole view.

In short, I had to track it down, and later convinced the the folks at Cutter Aviation to let me see the plane up close. I ended up getting access right into the belly of the thing, which was amazing.

It turns out this 1980s Soviet-era Antonov AN124-100 Cargo plane is used to transport U.S. military helicopters among other giant things.

Welcome to my site

Thanks for stopping by to see my work. This blog is a place to check out my favorite pics. They might be the glimpses of the projects I am working on, or the outtakes from my day job at the Albuquerque Journal. They might also be the quirky moments from other work, the pics that don’t make it into a client’s wedding book or the shot that isn’t quite perfect, but that makes me happy. Enjoy.
